Chetan Reddy proved invincible when he claimed the top spot at the 53rd Annual Dallas Morning News Regional Spelling Bee-co-sponsored by UT Dallas
The 2011 Dallas Morning News Regional Spelling Bee was also presented by Whataburger and Community Coffee sponsors.
The National Spelling Bee is scheduled to be broadcast Thursday, June 2, on ESPN beginning at 9 a.m., with the final rounds beginning at 7:30 p.m., both listed times are Central Daylight Time; check local listings.

From wanting to be soccer players, musicians, writers and astronauts to lawyers, money managers and entrepreneurs, these talented tweens are charting new courses, these are but some of the uber talented Indian-American youngsters that took part in the Spell Bee this year. Arvind Mahankali, Pranay Malempati, Kavya Pratapa, Chetan Reddy, Sruti Akula, Ramesh Ganta, Priyanka Tirumurti and Karthik Reddy
were among other spellers.
No surprises then that this is the third consecutive win and seventh in the last ten years for an Indian-American at the championship. While Asian students may excel at other competitions, Spell Bee is one contest where Indian youngsters have ruled the roost in the last decade....
