Make This Choice

Choose...Choice is equated with a freedom, but this theory is not true for digital medias.  Choice on the internet causes us to stop, change direction, think in the box and narrow down the answers.    So, the choice may not be the real answer, and our answer is not available as one of the choices, so then, our value-sets become changed as we are forced to narrow down our answer.

By stopping what we are doing to have to make a choice, changes the direction in which we were headed and we loose our place....

Our Oprah

Oprah Gail Winfrey, born on  January 29, 1954 on the family farm in Kosciusko, Mississippi. to an unwed teenage mother, Vernita Lee, who found a job as a maid in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.    Oprah's dad, Vermont Winfrey, who was stationed as a solider at a local base, and  her parents never married.
Oprah was given to her grandmother, Hattie Mae Lee to be raised,  and as her grandmother taught her to read at an early age,  at age three Oprah was reciting poems and Bible verses in local churches.    Even with many hardships from her physical environment, she enjoyed the loving support of her grandmother and the church community, who cherished her as a gifted child.     Oprah never wasted a minute in her young youth as her imaginative mind is always on something that seemed to be boring, and all through her younger years, the farm animals became her only friends, as  she used them for giving them parts in a play, and they were also used them for playing games.

Seperated, A Digital World

The digital medias are stored and located centrally at one place, and we, the people are located differently, and with digital communications, we become dislocated, lose a sense of place, and we also lose our home-field's advantage when we are actually separated from the communications we receive from a digital place.    And, as we do this, we focus differently having a narrow point of view.    We are then taken out of reality as we are always once removed and our attentions go elsewhere leaving us numb to reality....

Digital World Frying Our Brain

Digital information is fed to us in an out of sink manner.     The digital media in use, breaks up from a binary time to real time.    We then become disconnected, and we are off continuity, taking us out of our rhythmic cycles.    And, we become separated from real time, taking us out of the now moment, so we are not living in the now, and we then lose coherence and a touch for things.     With all of this, our attentions are diverted, we are numbed,  disconnected and distracted.

A Day Without Shoes

Does it really hurt to go without shoes for a day for a cause, maybe not, so kick em off and wiggle your toes...

Women on Wiki

Less women edit Wikipedia because their submission gets deleted by mostly men.  Their submission gets deleted because they are a woman, and women wiki editors have a harder time being taken seriously, convincing, impressive and as respected.  On Wikipedia, it is harder for women to gain trust, overcome ideals and defend their point of view.  Where are the women on Wikipedia?  There are many excuses of why there are less women editors on Wikipedia such as they are too busy, too much into perfection or too afraid.

Books May Becoming Extinct

The  effects on the book's availabilities available?     The Answer the question:of why the printed book may be no more? As books become more and more less available, as books in print are becoming less and less available as we change our reading behaviors, and as Douglas Rushkoff in
Program or Be Programmed, quotes, "a lot of the Newspapers that go online do so because they feel they do so out of a necessity;"      So, with more and more medias turning to digital, there is a less and less need to have printed materials available.

Some Memes are Bad

A meme is a bit of cultural information exchange that starts as fact, and then the information can turn bad after filtering through many responses and re-sends of the information.    With the passing of ideas, this information is called a meme.    Good or bad, memes can turn bad.   Memes go across culture in the many ways of: audio, visual and sensory information, and these memes are sets of information that evolves throughout social network channels on the internet.   This information mimics real truth, but the meme can be easily mistaken for the real truth, with subtle information changes as
the information travels through the internet as a type of gene mutation.  Memes carry a person's attitudes and cultural beliefs in information that travel from one person to another, effecting cultures.  Bad information spread through memes can portray a negative effect to our youth and society, and such influences come form teen influenced music, fashion and media which causes bullying and authority bashing which causes negativity and false beliefs.

Social Re-Occurring Consciousness

As an analysis on my blog posts, I see overall learning styles and how it can be applied to different areas with social networking.    I have reoccurring themes such as shared consciousness with social networking in harmony and use of skills that shapes behaviors, and the idea of being open to new possibilities.    And, working these things into harmony ties in to the prospect of working in harmony with the use of personal blogging.      Bogging to gain a personal brand, a personality, creating our own personal culture; it is bringing it to a new level of consciousness, to be active in a working environment of social networking, keeping in touch, and having a plan to create harmony.    With building harmony,  having cohesiveness is also a requirement  with that.
So, in a article about cohesiveness called Social networks and the psychological contract: Structural holes, cohesive ties, and beliefs regarding employer obligations -Violet T. Ho; At: http://hum.sagepub.com/content/59/4/459.full.pdf+html.
As they talk about: having cohesiveness and the value between having a cohesive friendship network versus a cohesive advice network.

Cognitive Learning Styles

We all have certain learning styles we use to learn, some learn and remember cognitively, and as a article called "Diversity, Learning Style and Culture" by Pat Burke Guild says, at:: http://home.avvanta.com/~building/strategies/styles/guild.htm   "Cognitive involve receiving, obtaining, taking possession of, and discerning information, ideas, and concepts."   So, we all have different learning styles, and we have to obtain our nich of learning.

Social Network's Contact

Socials in social networking are being sold for the dollar, and in a article called "Social networking sites gain clout in campaigns," at:/www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100822/GJNEWS_01/708229878/-1/FOSNEWS by By Jennifer Keefe says: "We reach out and not spend a lot of money,we use it to our advantage, and and most of all, we really have to be involved with all the social medias and pay attention to what's going on." Yea, they are keeping close watch on how we keep in touch with each other, so they can tap into the system for their gains, and I believe they'll spend a lot of extra time setting the selling-system up.

A Cultural Exchange-Remix

A Cultural Exchange-Remix An article says on Sustainability and Modular Complexity, it states at: http://remixtheory.net/?p=461#more-461: "A cultural exchange does not have to take place with misunderstandings and misrepresentations, and as a regard, Remix, has been a subject of spectacle and a criticism. I believe they, the users, become numb to the standards, and they are not as responsive to real life situations under these effects. The article also states, "it makes available traces for anyone who is interested in understanding how things are constructed from recycled, recombined, and re-purposed material." Maybe these things are too available in some cases. So the article goes on to say, "the noise, when extended to the music culture, becomes a tool of massive control." And, it is also true that the culture strives on the noise it creates. I find the article far fetched, and these effects from Remix have a overcoming effect toward our culture and society. I believe the Remix Revolution affect our culture in great ways, and it may effect our culture ever deeper than first realized. Also check out Mash-ups with businesses. And link to a file on Mash-up business enterprises. http://www.juliansanchez.com/2010/02/06/the-evolution-of-remix-culture/ http://remixtheory.net/?cat=6 http://motherboard.tv/2011/2/7/the-revolution-will-be-remixed--2.

Social Subjectivity

I believe there is influences toward society with the use of social subjectivity; to rethink the possibilities of social interventions; it goes beyond ourselves to our rationalities, and it shapes our communications and our lives; as we should practice our understandings and how we relate to one another in our consciousness to one another to keep social-cultural environment interwoven with a social structure of a social-patterned arrangement that forms society and shape our behaviors, and social structure can comprise cultural and normative patterns as said by Lopez and Scott (2000), Social Structure, Buckingham and Philadelphia-Open University Press, McGraw-Hill, Inc.. Social structure can change our responses to the world around us, as influenced by Durkheimian and Marxist that have had strong social structure views. Openness is important to share and collaborate with eachother. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marxism, www.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_citation/1/0/2/9/2/p102920_index.html .

Tech Talks

To Program or be Programmed is to learn, listen, speak and write; to be able to program is the best choice that can be made to keep up with society and the digital world; to be able to program, gives you the tool to get ahead and acheive. Being able to program effects work-life and lifestyle and it shapes the world. When we program, we participate with the digital world instead of just taking a backseat; getting right with the program or get left behind in the rat-race. With programming we are able to express ourselves, and we see what is coming at us at an easier pace; as far as being able to tell if we are being taken for a ride or not, knowing where the information is coming from and how it was created, and it is for the challenge, to have a solid background of the web and web developing, and with doing these things, we are more open toward the future, and we are more apt to learn more in the future. Networking like sharing information for this blog helps us be able to share shared thinking, and it is an extension of expression for shared consciousness as we share our experiences.
